This update is a transition for us.  Two of the videos are the last from our 2008 trip and the other two are the first from our 2009 trip.  We made a few changes on our last trip that we hope people will like. 

We are back in the barbershop for most of our haircuts.  We were able to come to an agreement with the managers on a price that we both liked.  We also hired a female to do most of our haircuts.  I was told that this new cutter had years of experience.  It became obvious that she was not really a barber and had cut mostly longer female styles.  She learned quickly and had done several head shaves by the end of the three weeks.  Her fades were still not as nice as most barbers but that led to some interesting cuts just the same.

We added a few new cuts to the catalog this trip.  Expect to see a few bowlcuts and a number of chin length bobs with high shaved undercuts.  We will still have lots of our cuts from our existing catalog including short cuts, buzzcuts, flattops and models shaving their heads.

A while back, someone asked for model's hair other than our ponytail auctions.  I explained that once it hit the floor we just sweep it away and do not save it.  After a couple other people (including one regular customer), also asked for this hair, we decided it was worth a try.  On a few models we have collected their hair from the floor and will be auctioning off their bag of hair.  If the auctions go well, we will continue this on future trips.

So, barbershop cuts, female cutters, bobs with undercuts and "bags of hair" auctions are a few of the changes we have made in order to better serve our customers.  We hope that you find something you like.  We'd like to thank all of our customers for their continued support.  We know that their are more choices than ever for haircut videos.  We do try to listen to our customers and make changes to accommodate them when possible.  It may take a while for a suggestion to be realized, but we do try.

All of the videos from our last trip are now edited and ready for release.  New videos will be released every two weeks for the next 11 months.

Here are this week's new videos.

Vid 621 has Jennifer8 starting with super thick, straight, black hair a few inches past her shoulders.  Jennifer doesn't want to go very short.  An angled bob will do just fine.  The barber starts with clippers at the nape and buzzes the bottom two inches nice and close.  The clippers are then inverted to cut a steep line from chin length in front to the high line in back.  With the basic bob in place, the hair is then cut wet with scissors.  The hairline in back is cleaned and squared off with a straight razor.  It takes a bit of time to blow dry Jennifer's thick bob.  The angle of this bob is quite dramatic but Jennifer really seems to like it.  She smiles as she sees her new cut in the mirror.  Second camera footage available on this video.

Vid 622 has Cristina8 starting with long black hair with a slight wave to it.  Cristina is the last of the co-workers (Vid549-Arlene4, Vid554-Jenny3, Vid561-Pamela2, Vid566-Maria, Vid581-Gwen, Vid606-Helen2) to get her haircut.  Cristina is going quite short so the barber starts with scissors and comb on dry hair.  He Circles Cristina cutting all of the long hair close to the head.  With the long hair on the cape and on the floor, it's time for the clippers.  They buzz a wide path around each ear and a few inches up the nape.  The top hair is cut wet with scissors reducing it to a few inches.  Gel is added to coax Cristina's remaining hair into a cute side part.  Cristina really likes her new short cut.  Second camera footage available on this video.

Vid 623 has cute Diana Joy starting with some amazing hair.  It's thick, straight, black and silky and is to her butt.  Diana Joy came to the shop with her mom today.  She only wants a chin length bob but her mom convinces her to go shorter as it pays more.  Her mom convinces her to go for a flattop.  We start with a thick ponytail at her crown.  The ponytail is cut off with scissors and is up for auction on Ebay this week.  Next the barber buzzes the sides and back to the skin.  A large section on top is also buzzed super short.  Scissors take over on top and cut the remaining hair very short.  This is the first flattop our new lady barber has ever done and it takes her quite a while to get the top short enough.  The sides and back are shaved smooth with a straight razor.  Diana Joy seems to be in shock as she sees what's left of her hair.  I wonder if she regrets following her mother's advice.  Second camera footage available on this video.

Vid 624 has Liza2 returning for a new haircut.  We first met Liza 20 months prior when she got a cute buzzcut (Vid 402).  Her hair has grown quite long and now she's ready to go even shorter.  The female cutter starts with scissors on dry hair.  She grabs a handful of hair and cuts it close to the head.  The handful is then dropped into Liza's lap.  This continues until all of Liza's hair is short and her lap is filled with long hair.  The lady barber then grabs the 00000 clippers and goes right down the middle.  She continues all over until only stubble is left.  Shaving cream is added and a straight razor shaves Liza's head.  Liza smiles before during and after her head shave.  Second camera footage available on this video.
